33rd Celebration of Casey's Trips Around the Sun

This year Casey's birthday is on a Tuesday and since celebrating on a Tuesday has always been a difficult thing this year the celebration was moved to the Saturday before. Like always Casey had a desire to go out and make the celebration memorable so being the wonderful person that Marcia is she made sure it was amazing. They awoke Saturday morning and with a smile of anticipation on both of their lips they ate a breakfast of pumpkin pancakes and sausages that Marcia prepared. Once full they drove up to Rockville Maryland to take on the Go Ape course.

For those that don't know Go Ape is a Tree Top Adventure course with zip lines, ladders, ropes, Tarzan swings, and all sorts of crazy fun things. Casey was blown away that Marcia took him to such an awesome place. All morning and into the afternoon they climbed up, down, and sideways through the obstacle course. They laughed and screamed out as they flew through the air and hit the ground and the end of the zip lines with a soft thud into a ton of mulch.

Each course had its own unique obstacles that you had to make your way through some were a blast, others were exhausting and only fun when they were over, while others felt really good to lie down in and take a nap. Obviously the best part of the whole excursion was jumping onto the zip lines and gliding through the air yelling like Tarzan. After a few hours of fun and exhaustion the course was over and Casey and Marcia were starving and searched for a place to get food. They found this place called Urban BBQ not to far away.
Urban BBQ was delicious. They served this soul roll, similar to an egg roll, that was basically pulled pork and cheese wrapped in a deep fried egg roll shell. This concoction came with a dipping sauce that was really chili with a lot of cheese on top. They had some other delicious food there but being so exhausted and full Marcia and Casey headed home. By the time they got home the exhaustion had gotten the better of them and as soon as they got to their room they fell asleep.
Luckily they woke up in enough time to go to the next part of the birthday celebration, Dangerously Delicious Pies. With a quick stop to pick up a friend the trio were off to H Street in DC and to the 3rd Annual birthday celebration with Pies. They went to the store after a slight detour through DC and found a parking spot pretty close to the store. The trio got out quickly and made a beeline to the shop and looked over the menu for the night. As soon as they ordered the most amazing savory pie, the SMOG, the waitress remembered them from the celebration last year. A good laugh was had by all and the waitress was glad that they came back. The trio sat down and talked while they waited for their pies.

Finally with full bellies and smiling faces the party broke up and everyone wished Casey a Happy Birthday and made their ways into the night.

Casey had an extra large grin that night thinking of his good friends and the great day he had; but the biggest reason for his smile was the beautiful woman that was on his arm that whole night. He knew how lucky he was and that made him happy.
